Experience the adventure of traveling by a coal-fired, steam-powered locomotive on the same tracks miners, cowboys and settlers of the old west took over a century ago. The Durango & Silverton Narrow Gauge Railroad’s winter train winds through spectacular & breathtaking snow-covered canyons in the remote wilderness of the two million acre San Juan National Forest for an unforgettable scenic adventure. The train heads north to a remote wilderness lunch stop. At the Cascade stop, passengers depart the train to take pleasure in the snow, relax in the pavilion by the fire with a cup of cocoa, or enjoy your picnic by the Animas River. Departs daily at 10am.
